Prairie Island Campground provides a safe family camping atmosphere along the banks of the majestic Mississippi River. Adults and children alike will enjoy the abundance of activities provided by the park and the surrounding Community. Some of the Campground attractions include: 80 electrical and 115 non-electrical sites (all on level ground), a playground, a convenience store, bicycle rentals, numerous yard games, a small video/paperback library, excellent fishing, a boat ramp and firewood sales. During some weekends there will be organized activities for children.
The natural beauty of our river valley and prairie will impress people of all ages. In the adjacent city park there are horseshoe and volleyball pits, hiking trails and a deer park with wild turkeys. Bald eagles and great blue herons are a common site in the area surrounding the park. .
Winona area attractions include the Aquatic Center with an Olympic sized pool and 208 foot water slide, a year round ice arena, the Julius C. Wilkie Steamboat Center, Garvin Heights look out, shopping in historic downtown Winona and many fine restaurants and coffee shops.

Camping fees are $17.00 per night for a non-electrical site and $21.00 for a site with electricity. Special weekly and monthly rates are also available.
